Fishing Contest

Christopher and Emerson took a quick lead in the group fishing contest with Renee and Cooper close behind. Rainer and John Ryan had a bit of a problem because Rainer did not want to use bait. Sophie and Jessica started off slow, but gained momentum by the end.

Spiders and water guns

The task was to shoot the spiders with the water guns. The outcome was an all out water fight with water guns and a hose. No significant injuries except Emmerson was shot in the face. JR put ice down Renee's shirt and Chris, Brooke and Tyler cheated by bringing huge water guns.

Water balloon relays

It started as a simple task, throw the water balloon to the next person in your group. The group with the most balloons won. Susan, Cooper, Jessica and Christopher won by a long shot. Then came the next relay, throw your water balloon to your teammate. However, you had to close your eyes. Christopher decided to pelt Jessica with balloons. Renee kept dropping hers. Halie freaked out. Then came the water balloon fight.

Then came the water game

Up first, four teams of three-the task, melt the ice cube the fastest. There were a few underhanded tricks during this event including Susan putting ice down JR's pants and Brooke running the ice up and down her arm. The winner was JR, Brooke and Sophie. The second place winners were far behind. 

Crafts

Chris was in charge of crafts. We made shields and cuffs. There was quite a wonderful assortment of designs.

Scavenger hunt

Once again, the scavenger hunt was a success. Three groups, a list of 20

Items and an hour to find. Halie, Emerson and Brooke were the winners with 20 items found and 15 minutes to go.

So, it's not as easy as it sounds. Three hours and ten holes later, the blob was complete. Until Purd decided to run across the plastic and made more holes in it. Luckily, Christopher came to the rescue with gorilla brand duct tape.

Family Bash 2015

Preparations have begun.

Banner painting synopsis

Sunday was a sultry evening for banner painting. After a quick dinner, we were off to design the famous/infamous family bash banner. Cooper started off painting a black 2015. Sophie decided to write Family Bash across the bottom. Emerson  was happy holding a paint brush dripping   with purple paint. Rainer designed a red and blue superhero. Halie painted a sunshine in orange and yellow, Her handprint followed. Christopher painted the Captain America logo while JR painted Red Beard. Grandma Ney painted a rainbow and a monarch with the name Milkweed, her superhero. Then came the glitter. We had 12 different colors of glitter that highlighted all of the beautiful artwork. The glitter was a definite bonus for the banner.

After banner painting, Grandma Ney brought out homemade Popsicles, root beer, lemonade, kiwi strawberry and mango vodka for the adults. Adelyn Lewis excited to chew on the cold Popsicle plastic (BPA free). She started crying when Christopher took it from her. All in all, it was a great evening.
