build a pirate ship

We need to build a pirate ship (yes, I know that pirates didn't actually build their ships, they commandeered them), but we need a prop for the Bash. Does anyone have a how to build pirate ship plan handy? This one is a bit pricey-3000 euros!

In the past, the scavenger hunt has been quite a bit of controversy-and I'm sure that this year will be no different. So, should we do the video scavenge hunt or the old school (you have to bring it back and have it authenticated). What do you think?

Pirate Names

Chelsea has a good idea-on Saturday eve we put some creative piratey name in a hat-draw two and presto....your pirate name.

This 'Official' pirate name is important because if you call someone something other than their pirate name, you lose one gold piece....

1st purchase made for Family Bash

Get your creative juices flowing for the "Make a pirate thingy" event.
Renee and I made our first purchase yesterday for the family bash craft activity.
If you have any extra craft supplies, please gather them up.
We can use any paint supplies, hot glue guns, sequins, feathers, jewels etc. that you may have!
Remember, one man's trash is another man's treasure....Aargghh!

Homage and Initiation

Yes, we are still doing the homage to those who have passed since Family Bash #1. It can be something simple, but I think it is important. Pappy, Grandma Marcella, Phyllis, Arlen, Grandma Jane and Grandma Nora are no longer with us. However, Halie, Susan, Rainer, Sophie, Chris B need to be initiated into Family Bash! I will pay homage to Pappy-one of the 5 most important people in my life. Gina is taking Grandma Marcella, Rebekka is taking Grandma Jane and Nora, Mom and Dad are taking Phyllis and Arlen. I will cover the initiation, since I don't want Brent and Ron taking care of it:)

We will do this on the Saturday eve festivities.....

eXTREME fISHING

and no!, brent cannot put a dead, slimy, bloody fish down my pants! Even if I am winning the fishing contest. This one is a bit dif than the others, no fishing equipment needed.....

Monday Nights

Starting Monday evening July 14th and every Monday until the bash (unless I have a date;)we will be gathering at Renee's house to work on costumes, a Family bash flag, scrapbook and other Pirate-y stuff. If you'd like to join us, bring your stuff and a appetizer to share.
